Rebecca's Bookshop (Rebecca Ellison Independent Usborne Organiser)

Usborne Books offer the very best books for children through stalls at events, baby & toddler groups, home parties, special initiatives for schools and much more.

I have been a passionate reader for many years and love working with schools and nurseries, helping pass on that love and promote reading for pleasure. I also value being able to help get books into the hands of children who may not otherwise have access to books.

There are so many ways to get children reading! I’m here to help your pupils get the best out of books whilst raising funds towards books for your school. Each event is tailor made to your setting, working with your school on a one on one basis, to deliver the best service for your establishment. I run and organise the events meaning, less of the teachers precious time is taken up.

Here are the ways I can help your school;
Ready Steady Read – is a sponsored read where children read as much as possible, it usually takes place over a week. The sponsored read, can take place at any time of the year and also linked in with other topics or events taking place in the school.

Ready Steady Listen – as above, if a child isnt able to read books they can be read to or even listen to audio books and stories. This version is great for preschool children or those who need support reading.

Author visits – these can be tailored to your school and either in person or virtual, we have a wide range of authors available covering ks1-ks4, linked into these we can do book sales of the authors book on a pre order basis prior to the visit. (There is a charge for this service to pay the author.)

Community Book Pledge – this works well for schools with good links in the community. Local businesses pledge money to be used for books for the school. This can be linked into other fundraising ideas too.

School Bookfair – held at the school either during the school day or on an evening. Pupils and parents get to see a range of books and place orders to be delivered into school. At these events I can also give advice about the different books in the range and help parents find the right books for their children.

The exciting bit for schools! For each of the events that you sign up to, the school receives a free percentage of books! (Details above, based on the orders received.)

For any more information about any of the above or to look at other possibilities personalised to your setting please dont hesitate to get in touch. I am based in County Durham however I do cover other areas.
