Annual planning made easy

An annual schedule outlining your PTA plans for the current school year can really help get everyone focused. We've made it even easier for you by sharing a template.

There is no such thing as being too organised! This template is based on a real working PTA document and is designed to provide an overview across the whole school year of all your PTA activities. It's broken down into different sections:

  • ongoing fundraising (recycling schemes, 100 clubs),

  • pure fundraising (tea towels, cake sales, etc),

  • events for families,

  • events for pupils,

  • adult social events,

  • support for school events.

Columns allow you to note the date, the PTA member responsible for each activity and a loose outline of when letters to parents need to be sent out, etc.

Sit down with school staff to plan in dates for the activities you'd like to run. This makes it easier to spot whether the summer term has too much going on (factoring in exams, end-of-term performances, sports day and so on). Once all your activities and dates are agreed, you can get on with the business of rallying volunteers!

The template is a simple Word document, so you can edit it as required. We have filled in a few of the columns to give you an idea of the sort of information you may find useful. Download the planning schedule template here

Please drop us an email if you'd like to share any of your templates or fundraising ideas with other PTAs.
