Meet the team

Nikki Burch

Editor, PTA+ Magazine, FundEd Magazine

'With one child at primary school (Year 5), another in Year 8 and a secondary maths teacher for a hubby, my life is full of school-related fun and frolics in one form or another.

I have worked in magazine publishing for over 20 years - on titles such as Prima Baby, Junior and Morrisons Health & Beauty. But nothing has been more rewarding (or emotional) than joining the Community Inspired team to work on PTA+ Magazine

I was on the PTA committee at my children's primary school for three years - looking after the textile recycling, Yellow Moon and Christmas pudding schemes and helping out at events whenever I could. Having recently hung up my PTA hat, I now look after the fundraising initiatives for our local Scout group, setting up a small society lottery and organising a football scratch cards fundraiser, with more ambitious plans in the pipeline!

I'm constantly in awe of what small groups of parents and teachers can achieve. But this is the case for PTAs across the country and I'm enormously proud to be supporting such a formidable force.'

Richard Manville

Commercial Director and Co-Founder of Community Inspired

'I have been married to Julie, a hardworking primary school teacher, for over 20 years and have a 19-year-old son who occasionally comes out of his bedroom to raid the fridge or watch football!

In the mid-1980s I spent a year teaching in Kenya. In 2002 I helped set up Community Inspired. Some people have joked that if you cut me open I would have 'salesperson' written through me like a stick of rock. This is probably true and I am passionate about sales, but I strongly believe that the only way to sell properly is through a consultative approach - indeed, good client relationships are at the heart of any successful business.'

Natalie Keeler

Staff Writer, PTA+ Magazine, FundEd Magazine

'I graduated in 2014 with a degree in English, so my time in education still feels like yesterday! My Mum played an integral role in the PTA while I was growing up, so getting stuck into fundraising was greatly encouraged from an early age. Joining the team at Community Inspired really made me realise how much dedication and teamwork goes into school fundraising, and it's always such a joy to speak to and receive stories from people who are so passionate and committed to what they do. Chatting to readers, and hearing their fabulous experiences, is definitely the best part of my job.'
