Meet the team
Richard Manville, managing director
Richard began his career in sales after travelling and teaching in Kenya. His market expertise means he is able to seek out, build and nurture long-term partnerships with clients. These relationships enable us to provide fundraising services to schools free of charge, helping them to raise even more! Richard ensures the company remains competitive and innovative, swiftly adapting the business strategy according to changes in the market. After identifying an emerging need for school business managers to engage in fundraising activities, Richard decided to launch FundEd for schools.
Carol Rogerson, creative content manager
Carol's background is in publishing. She joined us initially for two months, and has been here since 2011. Carol makes sure we are producing inventive and original content across the magazines and digital platforms. She loves learning about new technologies, and finding ways to help our small team achieve as much as we possibly can. Her obsession with organisation and planning help us stay on track and remain true to our values. Carol is mum to one school-age child, and an active member of the school's PTA, for which she concentrates on publicity and communicating with the parents.
Katie Wyartt, sub editor
Katie has worked in publishing for almost 20 years, as a writer, editor and sub editor across magazines, newspapers and online. Katie is here to make sure everything you read in our magazines is clear, relevant and, most importantly, factually correct. She also plans, commissions and writes content for PTA+ and FundEd magazines, working closely with the rest of the team on shaping the direction of the magazines as they grow. Katie is mum to two primary school-aged children and is an active member of their school's PFA.
Heather Park, staff writer
Heather finished her school years in 2013 and fondly remembers the special things that enriched her experience (the big blue Wendy house was her favourite), which is why she's passionate about helping PTAs enhance a new generation of pupils' lives through fundraising. Having earned her degree in Creative Writing, Heather does most of the in-house writing, which means she's always thinking of new feature ideas, researching stories, finding testimonials and interviewing PTA members. She's also involved in running our Facebook groups and writes our email newsletters.
Lucy Hubery, resources editor
Lucy is a former secondary school English teacher and primary school governor. Her experience puts her in an excellent position to understand what both primary and secondary schools need so she can source the best value-for-money products and innovative resources for our readers. She knows how important it is to help schools fundraise and save money in the current challenging financial climate. Lucy has three children of her own.
Sarah Everson, admin assistant
Sarah joined us when her youngest daughter started pre-school. Sarah thrives on variety: one minute she's liaising with subscribers and advertisers on the magazines, the next she's researching and compiling the FundEd grants database. Sarah contributes ideas, grants information and testimonials to the publishing team and is also the administrator of our Child Safe Zones scheme, which runs in shopping centres nationwide. In her 'spare' time, Sarah's the secretary of the (very successful) PTFA at her daughter's school and leader in charge of a local Guide unit.
Roz Smith, accounts support
Roz began her career as a PA for the director of a charity,
before moving into due diligence. Following her maternity leave,
Roz joined Community Inspired, where she assists the managing
director in day-to-day activities, taking responsibility for email
and online activity, particularly our Facebook suppliers
directories. Roz has two school-aged children.
